Leslie's Wedding

I first met Leslie for her trial in Llandudno. My office for the day was a stunning house on the rocks with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Leslie wanted her make-up look to be natural yet striking. Leslie and her now husband Dirk got married in the serene setting of Franschoek. I did her make-up, as well as her Bridesmaid/Maid of Honour and her now Mother-in-law. We sat outside in a pool room overlooking the pool-wow, it was just so relaxed. I got this make-up job through Le Look who I work with on some occasions. Everything worked out so beautifully and Leslie looked absolutely stunning for her special day.

Shoot with Janelle

Janelle and I worked together at MAC and then we both ended up moving to Cape Town. One day we met up and had a little photo shoot at Small Bay just before sunset. I did the make-up and also took the photos. Janelle is totally gorgeous and is such a natural in front of the camera!

My husband and I for my cousin's wedding

My very good friend Jean-Marie got married on 27 February 2010 at Avianto in Johannesburg. I was one of her many bridesmaids as well as her and the entourage's Make-up Artist. There were 6 ladies to do including myself. I took it as a challenge and was very excited for the BIG day! we starting getting our hair done early that morning and were doing the flower girls' hair ourselves. on our way to the venue, one of my friends' cars broke down, like in the middle of the highway. my word, why did it have to happen on this day! so we all piled into the other two cars. well now stress had overtaken the calmness everyone was feeling. when we got to the venue, hair continued to be done and I started with my Bridal duty-the make-up. I started with the Bride, so that she was done and she would be less stressed for the rest of the day. I did the Brides cousins' make-up, and then had to have my hair done. the stress levels weren't too high at this stage. but then time was running out and it was getting closer and closer to the time of the Wedding. i started doing my own make-up while my hair was being finished off and then quickly did the other 3 friends' make-up. stress levels were super high. I think I did their make-up all within like 45 minutes, but they looked so good, if I do say so myself. The Bride was taking some pre-wedding photos and the rest of us were rushing to get our outfits and false eyelashes on...we could not leave without our eyelashes! we took some group photos and piled into cars to go to the chapel. the ceremony was so incredibly beautiful and I remember only taking a deep breathe of relief after the service. I had completed my challenge...my Bridal duty of being Make-up Artist as well as Bridesmaid to such an amazingly beautiful Bride. It was the most enjoyable wedding Ive ever been to; we had such a great time and have so many memories from that eventful day.
